Testing Engineer – Conflux UK

Position Overview: The Testing Engineer – is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and ongoing reliability of all test equipment within the Conflux UK laboratories. This role ensures that testing activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and to the required technical standards, supporting both current programmes and future development needs. In addition to hands-on technical responsibilities, the Testing Engineer will play a key role in technical discussions, planning, and scoping activities with cross-functional Conflux teams across the global organisation. As the UK site continues to develop, the role will actively contribute to defining and implementing new testing capabilities, supporting continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and alignment with Conflux’s wider engineering strategy. 

Location: Sheffield, UK 

Key Responsibilities: 

Testing: 

• Run performance testing of the heat exchangers developed by Conflux 

• Gather material test results on the incoming builds from other teams at Conflux  

Data Acquisition and Reporting : 

• Collate data and present to the internal key stakeholders 

• Create and run Statistical Process Control charts for the in-house generated and outsourced tests 

• Create and update work instructions for the equipment 

• Own the overall process in the lab 

Commissioning and Maintenance: 

• Assist with setting up incoming equipment 

• Be an integral part of the procurement process and project management for new capabilities 

• Identify gaps or any processes requiring improvement  

Qualifications: 

• Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field – preferred 

• Proven experience in a machining, testing or an R&D environment 

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes 

• Can-do attitude and ability to work on their own

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
